Licensed Care Services at Willamette View

Whether regaining strength or recognizing the need for a higher level of care, there are multiple options in Willamette View’s Licensed Care areas to meet residents’ varying needs.

Willamette View offers both short-term and long-term care options:

Short-Term Licensed Care Options:

Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF):

  • Average two to three weeks for rehabilitative care in our six-bed unit.
  • Intensive therapies—physical, occupational, and speech therapy disciplines available.
  • Covered by Medicare or Medicare HMO insurances. Some insurances initiate co-pays after a set period of time. Supplemental insurance policies typically cover these co-pays.
  • Eligibility for skilled care depends on availability and your doctor’s orders—Willamette View cannot determine if you need skilled care; your primary care physician must make this decision.

Neighborhood Short-Stays:

  • Short-term stay in our Assisted Living Facility (ALF).
  • High level of care provided in a furnished room—a strong alternative to the SNF unit. Help with toileting, transfers, and all activities of daily living is available. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy disciplines available with utilization of Medicare Part B.
  • Private pay, though Willamette View residents are eligible for two free days.
  • Note: your physician must sign orders for “admission to assisted living facility.”

Top three reasons for a short-stay:

  1. Recuperation: An independent living resident needs additional care while recovering from a procedure but is not eligible for the SNF unit. Or, a resident may not feel safe going home alone post-surgery and spends a week or two in short-stay.
  2. Renewal: An independent living resident finds they are unable to safely complete activities of daily living--staying in short-stay for a period of weeks or months until they have regained their strength and are ready to return home.
  3. Respite: Typically occurring with a couple, one resident is the primary caregiver for the other and needs a break for a few weeks or months. After receiving thorough care in short-stay, the second resident may opt to stay long-term.

Long-Term Licensed Care Options:

Neighborhoods (ALF/RCF):

  • Four Neighborhoods, consisting of up to 15 residents in each—one Neighborhood is a dedicated memory care unit. Same area as short-stays.
  • Highest level of long-term care on campus. Help with toileting, transfers, and all activities of daily living is available.
  • Room is furnished by the resident, but Willamette View will provide a hospital bed, nightstand, and an over-the-bed table.
  • Private pay, although long-term care insurance may apply. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy disciplines available with utilization of Medicare Part B.

Terrace (RCF):

  • A lighter level of care. This close-knit community is primarily for residents who require additional help throughout the day.
  • Care includes medication management, housekeeping, health observation, scheduling appointments/transport, and brief miscellaneous care.
  • Additional services may be purchased à la carte.
