The Best Years of Our Lives

After World War II, three veterans (Fredrick March, Dana Andrews, and Harold Russell) return to their small-town to discover that they and their families have been irreparably changed. The women in their lives are portrayed by Myrna Loy, Virginia Mayo, and Teresa Wright. Additionally, Hoagy Carmichael delivers several favorite old tunes on the piano. The movie received the Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA awards as Best Picture, along with Frederick March winning the Oscar for Best Actor.
