Based on the book by James Hansen, this movie is told through the eyes of the first man to land on the moon, Neil Armstrong, portrayed by Ryan Gosling. It follows Armstrong's life from 1961-69, showing his family relationships and his own mental states during the intense preparation for the moonshot. The movie won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects and the Golden Globe for Best Original Score.
