Update on Campus Projects
White Oak Grill on Track to Open in June
Work on the White Oak Grill continues, with dining and corridor flooring scheduled to arrive in Portland on May 26.
Heron Heights Progress Continues
At Heron Heights Phase 2, the monument sign has been submitted for permit review. The final building on SE Evergreen is expected to be complete around June 1. This milestone will open the pathway between Phases 1 and 2, improving access to the crosswalk at SE Evergreen. Phase 3 is also advancing, with the construction plans nearing finalization.
Manor Retrofit Update
The Manor Retrofit Hard Hat Talk was well received. A summary document is posted on the easel in the Manor Library. Vertical work currently includes installing ductwork through the north stairwell shaft, and will be followed by a three‑week corridor rebuild. Electrical gear is expected to arrive at the end of July for installation in July and August.
North Point Kitchen Being Converted to Conference Room
Meanwhile, construction on the North Pointe kitchenette conversion to a reservable space for both residents and staff began on April 20 and is projected to reach completion by mid‑May.
Plaza Building Demolition to Start in May
Plaza Demo activities are moving quickly. Abatement began on April 20 and will continue ahead of interior demolition, which is expected to begin no later than May 4. Exterior demolition is planned for late May, with dust mitigation measures in place, though some dust should still be expected. Parking around the building will remain closed until late 2028 when the new Skyline is completed.
New Staff Office Plans for the Manor
Plans are being worked on for new office space in the Manor 1st floor A Wing and the Lower Level B Wing, which would allow staff in the Pods by North Pointe to move back into more permanent office spaces. There will need to be mechanical engineering updates before architectural construction documents can be done. Mitch and his team will begin removing the lower‑level laundry, a process expected to take four to five weeks. Permit submission timing is still to be determined.
Collectively, these updates reflect a broad collection of projects advancing in parallel, each with defined milestones, active coordination, and upcoming decision points that will shape the next phases of work.
