George Clooney portrays a beleaguered man who struggles to unscramble his feelings for a
mortally-injured unfaithful wife, two young daughters, a huge land grant bequeathed to his descendants by Hawaiian royalty, and a group of greedy cousins. With a superb supporting cast, he captures the unpredictable messiness of life with eloquence and uncommon grace. Shailene Woodley and Amara Miller play the daughters, and Hawaii lends its special beauty. Alexander Payne directs.
