Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

After months have passed without a suspect in her daughter's murder, Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand, who won the Oscar for Best Actress) posts signs on 3 billboards with a message directed at her town's chief of police (Woody Harrelson). When his second-in-command, an immature violent man (Sam Rockwell, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor) gets involved, the battle between Mildred and the town's law enforcement is exacerbated.
