This film was directed by Mira Nair. It chronicles the true story of a young Ugandan girl who was born and raised in a slum called Katwe. The girl manages to rise above her circumstances, using chess as her unlikely springboard. Fine performances by David Oyelowo and Lupita Nyong'o.
