This current-day mystery with ironic and humorous edges is set in rural West Texas. It follows a writer/podcaster from New York City who looks into the death of a woman he had dated casually.  Written, directed and starring B J Novak as Ben Manalowitz the movie says a lot about our biases regarding Alamo hero-worship, guns and vengeance as well as New York elitist opportunists. Artfully sound acting by Aston Kutcher, Issa Rae and Boyd Holbrook.
