An optimistic and talented high school senior in Portland, Oregon, Amber Appleton (Auli’i Cravalho) clings to a huge secret -- she's homeless and living with her mother in a school bus. Through it all, independent Amber must learn to rely on the support of her friends to help her overcome all obstacles. Justina Machado stars as Amber’s mom. Rhenzy Feliz and Fred Armisen round out the cast with Carol Burnett as a feisty senior-living resident for whom Amber works.
