England’s Prince Albert (Colin Firth) unexpectedly becomes King George VI and must give a speech to his nation despite his severe speech impediment. His wife Elizabeth (Helen Bonham Carter) hires Lionel Logue, an unorthodox speech therapist (Jeffery Rush) to help him. Through unconventional methods, Logue helps the King overcome his stammer and becomes a life long friend. Winner of the Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Actor for Colin Firth.
