Gentle Yoga

Charlie Higgins is a local instructor who teaches what he calls Gentle Yoga.  He states that “Yoga at Willamette View is for every one — each individual’s uniqueness, age and range-of-motion is celebrated.  People are encouraged to perform each yoga technique ‘one-time slowly’ instead of multiple-times quickly.  In essence, participants learn to exercise their bodies, minds and hearts, like artisans instead of ‘Ford factories.’  Thus, individuals don’t conform to the predetermined molds of what yoga should be.  At Willamette View participants create their own yoga.”
