Snowshoeing outings to Government Camp on Mt. Hood are planned roughly twice a month from mid-December through mid-March. Carpooling is encouraged. The carpooling fee is $10 per passenger. A typical outing lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those without snowshoes can rent them from several local stores. Notices of upcoming outings are sent by email to those who have submitted the required liability release form to Brooke on the first floor of the Manor.
Residents who are able to engage in strenuous activity during the winter months are welcome. This activity requires the ability to walk three or four miles up and down inclines with a backpack.
