Secretary

Area of Focus

The Secretary serves as a member of the Resident Council and Council Officers. The primary responsibility is to compile and distribute the Council Agenda packet and to take and distribute Minutes of meetings.

Council Responsibilities

  • Attend all Council and Association meetings.
  • Serve as a resource in terms of policies and procedures related to Willamette View Administration and the Council.
  • Serve as an advocate, and when requested, gain Council approval or support.
  • Serve as a facilitator and assist in any leadership and organizational issues that may arise.
  • Report to the Council on accomplishments, concerns, or new information within the assigned position.
  • Participate fully in Council discussions and decisions on issues of concern and interest to the community.
  • Be open to resident feedback.

Specific Position Responsibilities

  • Work with other Officers to develop meeting agendas.
  • Anticipate evolving needs and interests of residents.
  • Report to Council as needed on areas of responsibility.
  • Take minutes of Resident Council meetings and Association meetings.
  • Distribute agendas and minutes. Make copies for a permanent record.
  • Collect reports from Council members, compile and distribute prior to Council meetings
  • Maintain a running list of motions passed by Council during the calendar year.
