During WWII, the valet to the British Ambassador to Ankara, Turkey (James Mason) sells British secrets to the Germans while trying to romance a refugee Polish countess (Danielle Darrieux). This film is based on a true story of how and why the Nazis obtained advance knowledge of the D-Day invasion, but made no use of it. It won the Golden Globe for best screenwriting.
