Based on a true memoir and adapted to the screen by writer, director, and actor, Joel Edgerton, this drama tells the story of a 19 year old Baptist boy (played by Lucas Hedges) who realizes he is gay. When the parents (Nicole Kidman and Russel Crowe) learn this, they send him to a conversion camp--but that leads to even more problems.
