A 35 year old textile business owner (Dan Aykroyd) hires an African-American chauffeur (Morgan Freeman) for his elderly Jewish mother (Jessica Tandy) in Atlanta in the 1950s. The latter two have a strained relationship at first, but it grows and improves over the years. The movie won 21 awards, the most significant being the Oscar for Best Picture, JessicaTandy as Best Actress, Morgan Freeman as Best Actor, and Dan Aykroyd as Best Supporting Actor. Captions
