Based on the diaries of Antonina Zabinska, this screenplay follows the story of Antonina and her husband, Jan, who was the director of the Warsaw Zoo. During the German invasion of Poland starting in 1939, they helped save the lives of hundreds of people and animals. Jan is portrayed by Belgian actor Johan Heldenbergh and Antonina by American actress, Jessica Chastain. CAPTIONS
