This satire follows a lonely German boy during World War ll named Jojo whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided by his imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, Jojo must confront his blind nationalism. The film won both the Oscar and BAFTA for the Best Screenplay.
