Sally Hawkins portrays an isolated mute woman who works as a cleaning lady in a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1962 Baltimore. Her life changes when she discovers the lab's classified secret -- a mysterious, amphibious creature that lives in a water tank. A remarkable, unique bond develops between them. The film won the Oscar for Best Picture and its director, Guillermo del Toro, won the Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA awards.
