Michael Williams (Nicholas Cage) drifts into the town of Red Rock, Wyoming and is mistaken for a hit-man hired by the local sheriff to kill his wife (Lara Flynn Boyle). Tempted by the high cash offer, Michael plays along and promptly finds himself in a web of intrigue, especially when meeting up with the real hit-man (Dennis Hopper).
