Gigi (Leslie Caron) is a young woman who is raised by her grandmother (Hermione Gingold) in Paris in the early 1900s. She is sent to live with her Great Aunt Alicia to learn etiquette and the ways of a courtesan. There she meets Gaston (Louis Jourdan), an old friend of the family and a wealthy womanizer. Gigi and Gaston are just friends but over time their relationship develops into something more! The narrator of their story is Gaston's uncle, played by Maurice Chevalier.
