The Willamette View Chorus has existed for more than 35 years. It is a large singing group with a paid director. The chorus usully gives two concerts per year. They have an executive committee that deals with the organizational needs as well as negotiating the director’s annual contract. They must follow Resident Council financial procedures.
It is open to all residents who enjoy singing with a group. No auditions are required.
Weekly rehearsals begin in September and end after the concerts in December. Concert rehearsals are Tuesday, November 25 and December 2, 12:30 pm to 2:45 pm. The evening concert is on December 3, at 7:00 pm. The afternoon concert is on December 4, at 2:00 pm. Chorus then takes a break until January, when weekly rehearsals resume. The Spring concerts will be scheduled for May 2026.
A non-resident, qualified Choral Director is contracted by the Chorus. The director's fee is split between the Chorus and Willamette View, Inc. Each chorus member pays a semi-annual fee to cover Chorus expenses. Members may also make additional donations.
