Chorus

The Willamette View Chorus has existed for more than 40 years. It is a large singing group with a paid director. The chorus usuually gives two concerts per year. They have a committee that deals with the organizational needs as well as negotiating the director’s annual contract. They must follow Resident Council financial procedures.

It is open to all residents who enjoy singing with a group. No auditions are required.

Weekly rehearsals begin in September and end after the concerts in December. Concert rehearsals are the last Tuesday in November and first Tuesday in December. The evening concert is on the first Wednesday in December, at 7:00 pm. The afternoon concert is on the first Thursday in December, at 2:00 pm. Chorus then takes a break until January, when weekly rehearsals resume. The Spring concerts will be scheduled in May 2027.

A non-resident, qualified Choral Director is contracted by the Chorus. The director's fee is split between the Chorus and Willamette View, Inc. Each chorus member pays a semi-annual fee to cover Chorus expenses. Members may also make additional donations.
