In addition to the on-campus performing arts events, a resident volunteer manages and supports off-campus events. The individual obtains information about the upcoming season’s Performing Arts programs in the Portland area and communicates this information to WV residents.
Specifically, the individual will:
- Obtain information about the upcoming season’s programs for the performance series, beginning with the events WV has attended in the past. Any new series for which there is anticipated resident interest will be added.
- Communicate this information to WV residents utilizing several methods (Friday Notice, individual letters, bulletin board notices, resident website, Willamette Views articles, personal talks, etc.).
- Cooperate with WV staff to ensure that the bus sign-up sheets are properly posted, including such information about events as may be available.
- Appoint bus sponsors/assistant sponsors/substitute sponsors for each bus trip. Provide sponsors with written information regarding their responsibilities and the current policies and procedures governing WV bus transportation. Meet personally with each sponsor to answer questions, as needed.
- Maintain a running calendar of events to which a bus is going, including all relevant information so that the Performing Arts councilor may assist sponsor/staff/residents with questions.
- Encourage the posting of availability of seats on buses to individual events so that interested residents may purchase tickets and ride the bus. We like to run full buses!
- For single off-campus events, since any resident may request a bus to any event, stand ready to assist with policies and procedures if requested.
