Area of Focus
The Councilor for Performing Arts is liaison for various on-campus performance groups and provides access to off-campus cultural events.
Council Responsibilities
- Attend all Council and Association meetings.
- Serve as a resource in terms of policies and procedures related to Willamette View Administration and the Council.
- Serve as an advocate, and when requested, gain Council approval or support.
- Serve as a facilitator and assist in any leadership and organizational issues that may arise.
- Provide written reports to the Council for the activities under the Councilor position.
- Report to the Council on accomplishments, concerns, or new information within the assigned position.
- Participate fully in Council discussions and decisions on issues of concern and interest to the community.
- Be open to resident feedback.
Specific Position Responsibilities
- Maintain regular contact with activity groups via telephone, emails or attendance at meetings. Ensure that each activity has an organization including a named leader and named treasurer and ask that they send you their minutes.
- Serve as a resource to these activities as they interact with policies and procedures of the Resident Council and Willamette View administration/employees.
- Ensure each activity has a named leader and designated backups.
- Serve as the communication link among these groups. This includes requesting Council approval or support for activities, especially with regard to the Resident Finance committee.
- Assist in leadership and organizational issues that may arise concerning the bus sign-up for off-campus performances, working closely with WV staff.
- Keep notebook up to date.
